Our Story

Where does the idea of opening a co-working space come from? For Matt and Jaimee Stark, respectively a builder and a graphic designer, partners in business and in life, it all came together when Jaimee got tasked with fitting out an office space for Matt's father's company. "We saw a massive gap in the market for well-designed, flexible workspaces in the Central Business District of Hamilton, which drove us to start Panama."

Opening in 2017, it didn't take long to meet demand allowing Panama, as a brand, to grow from 1 to opening a fourth space across the city of Hamilton. Crucial to Panama’s success is understanding that workspaces need to be thoughtfully designed for people to enjoy their place of work and to allow for businesses to grow in them.  "We spend a lot of time at work which is why we've created working environments where people and their passions thrive and where collaboration and community are cultivated."

Bringing Panama to life was, and still is, a community effort. While both Matt and Jaimee lead the design process, they also involve interior designers and spatial designers from the Stark Property team as well as input from other collaborators within the community. "Collaboration, sharing of resources and networking are fundamental aspects of creativity, efficiency and growth. We love the community, sharing ideas and gaining insight from other people who are experts in their own field”.

Each Panama location has a different interior, but they all share one thing in common: they all have plenty of natural light. "We always look to incorporate as much natural light as possible. We know this is a great contributor to functional spaces and high levels of productivity. This combined with many plants and greenery makes Panama stand out.
