Panama Tenant Health and Safety Requirements
EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURE AND FIRST AID
When the fire alarm sounds, you should immediately evacuate the building via the nearest exit, in accordance with the below Emergency Evacuation Procedure. Panama is fitted with automatic fire sprinkler systems in all rooms, which will be automatically activated by the presence of smoke. Please ensure that you familiarise yourself and any of your visitors and associates (e.g. employees) with the emergency evacuation procedure. The emergency evacuation procedure is also posted by every exit and stairwell door in the building. The fire alarm system is monitored by Apex Building Compliance who will run regular checks and building inspections throughout the year. This is to ensure that the alarm is fully operational. We appreciate your cooperation in participating in the drills, which will be managed by Apex Building Compliance Limited.
The first aid kit is located in the main kitchen. Please fill in the accident log, when necessary and inform Panama staff of any incidents that occur in the building. In an emergency, immediately call 111.
HAZARD IDENTIFICATION AND BUILDING MAINTENANCE
Every month the Stark Property Maintenance team will walk through the building in order to identify any new risks or hazards and monitor the controls that we have in place (for example, checking fire equipment).
If you notice anything that could be a potential risk or hazard, please notify the Stark Property Maintenance team as soon as possible. A Stark Property team member will come and investigate all Panama property or building hazards that may pose a risk to health and safety.
Similarly, if you notice a matter of building maintenance, please notify the Stark Property Maintenance team via the Panama app, so that the issue can be attended to. Please do not contact contractors directly to undertake repairs or building maintenance.
VISITORS TO PANAMA SQUARE
To ensure all visitors can be accounted for in an emergency situation, and in the general interests of building safety, please ensure that all of your visitors report their presence via the Digital Receptionist/iPad at the front entrance.
Visitors should be met in the main foyer and accompanied by you while in the building. In the event of an emergency while your guest(s) are in the building, please advise them to follow the emergency evacuation procedure.
BUILDING SECURITY
If you notice people wandering in the building, your cooperation would be appreciated in asking the person who they are looking for and directing them to the digital receptionist in the main foyer or to a Stark Property employee. Please report any suspicious behaviour to the Stark Property team as soon as possible.
The external doors are open from 8.15am, after the first person has swiped in, and are secured from 5pm on weekdays. Please ensure these doors are not held open for people you do not know after hours.
Emergency Evacuation Procedure
In the event of a fire, or any occurrence involving danger to life or property:
1. SOUND ALARM
Break glass of fire alarm box and operate switch. The alarm bells will ring and the Fire Service will automatically be alerted. Familiarise yourself with the location of the alarm boxes.
2. CALL FIRE SERVICE
Between the hours of 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), the Building Warden will telephone 111 as an additional precaution.
3. EVACUATE
Leave the premises immediately by following the “EXIT” signs. Ensure that any smoke doors are closed.
4. DISABLED PERSONS
To be accompanied out of the building via the nearest fire exit.
5. ASSEMBLE
Please familiarise yourself with the assembly point for the Panama location you are situated at. This is clearly stated on the evacuation signage displayed in each building.
6. SAFETY FIRST
Only if conditions permit should attempts be made to extinguish a fire. Safety is the main consideration for you and for everybody else in the building.
7. KEEP OUT
Stay outside the building until instructed to return.
