Mitchell Daysh have been residing at Panama Square since July 2022 and were an instant fit for the space. Mark Chrisp from Mitchell Daysh’s Hamilton office answers a couple of questions for us.
How many people in your team?
There are 5 in Hamilton, but about 40 in total across New Zealand.
How long have you been in business/ worked for this company?
Since 2016, when Mitchell Daysh was formed by the merger of EMS and Mitchell Partnerships.
In one sentence, tell us what you do.
I solve people’s problems within the field of resource management planning.
How did you end up doing what you’re doing?
By chance! I started off doing business management at university, spent all my time at the pub (Hillcrest tavern) failed a few courses, and decided to do a bachelor in geography (and thought what am I going to do with this?!) I decided to go back and complete my master’s, and by then they had created the resource and environmental planning programme.
What is your favourite kind of work/ project?
Electricity sector developments.
Favourite place to holiday?
Fiji or Hawaii.
What was your first job?
I worked for Works Consultancy straight out of uni, for 5 years. Then set up EMS with Stephen Daysh in 1994.
Favourite place to eat out in Hamilton?
Chim Choo Ree.
Do you have any hidden talents or secret hobbies?
I’m very practical, have worked on farms, can problem solve and build stuff!
Who is your favourite music artist?
Cold Chisel or Dire Straights.
