Panama Square residents, Lysaght, are specialists in land surveying, civil engineering and planning, but during lunch breaks you’re likely to see them out surfing, swimming, cycling or running.
As winners of the Humankind Employee Experience Award in 2019, Lysaght value their long-standing commitment to nurturing a healthy body and healthy mind philosophy. While Multisport has been the main focus throughout our 25+ years of existence, this has recently morphed into a philosophy which is more inclusive of our growing team.
By providing extended ‘fitness lunch breaks’ a couple of times a week, staff get to spend regular time involved in physical activity without compromising on time at home with their families. We also spend time away together throughout the year at multi-sport events, adventure races and kayak fishing trips (more about the LKFC can be found here).
The result is a group of people who love coming to work, a higher staff retention and the ability to attract more like-minded people when we are recruiting. Not to mention, we’re hopefully trending in the right direction with our physical well-being. We’ve got all sorts of ability levels, from people trying out a new sport for the first time, to those committed (or mad?) enough to train to win marathon events and compete in the Coast to Coast.
While the Lysaght head office is based in Mount Maunganui, a growing Hamilton team now resides on the ground floor at Panama Square, and they’re just as keen on getting out and about and fit. Look out for them going past you in a blur of purple and white!
